A new UnfilteredCdn TikTok says John Carpay has received reports through the Justice Centre that some Canadians are being contacted at home by government officials about social-media posts made months or years earlier.

PBC checked what is confirmed and what still needs records.

Confirmed: the TikTok exists, the transcript says what the caption claims, and Bill C-9 is real. Parliament identifies Bill C-9 as the Combatting Hate Act, amending the Criminal Code on hate propaganda, hate crime and access to religious or cultural places. LEGISinfo says it received royal assent June 18, 2026.

Not confirmed yet: the specific home-visit reports. We still need agency names, notices, file numbers, letters, affidavits, FOI/ATIP records or a full public Justice Centre file before treating those as proven cases.
